36 Golf more local courses

While everyone and their grandma seems to know about Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, there are several less well known, and less expensive, courses that offer their own challenges. Locals know and love these courses.

Check out Kentuck Golf Course on the northern edge of Coos Bay. The 18-hole course is especially popular with beginners. Call 756-4464 for hours, rates and directions.

There's also Sunset Bay Golf Course in the Charleston area. Call 888-9301.
Coos Country Club south of town 267-7257, also allows some public play.
In addition to the resort, Bandon includes Face Rock Golf Course, 347-3818.
Bandon Crossings, located south of town, opened last year and has received strong reviews, including being ranked in the top 10 new courses in the country by one national publication, 347-3232.

In Reedsport, don't miss the Forest Hills Country Club 271-2626.
Florence offers both renowned Sandpines, (800) 917-4653 and challenging Ocean Dunes, 997-3232.

In Curry County, golfers can try Cedar Bend near Ophir, 247-6911 or Salmon Run near Brookings, 469-4888.
