77 Find Blacklock Point

This remote South Coast gem, below Langlois, is not one to miss. Head south of U.S. Highway 101 and hang a right on Airport Road (almost directly across from Pacific High School) and stop when you can go no farther. There's an eerie airstrip nearby. Since that's forbidden trekking land, head due west on the trail (heeding the warning œDon't Get Lost" scratched into the gate) for about two miles until you are standing at least seven stories above the Pacific Ocean. Hiking north a couple miles eventually will lead you down to black sand beaches. If the time is right, you can watch a flock of pelicans scooping up snacks amongst the crashing waves. Oh, and don't forget snacks of your own and water. You'll likely crave both.
