The Reedsport area offers a wide array of environments for amateur and professional nature photographers.

In Winchester Bay, the Umpqua Lighthouse is a favorite target where photographers train their lenses day and night.

Common egrets and great blue herons sometimes line the shores of the Umpqua River at low tide, foraging for fish, frogs and small rodents. They nest in treetop rookeries around the area.

The fishing and recreational boats at Winchester Bay always attract photographers, as do the dune riders on their roaring ATVs. A hike out near the jetty might offer a chance to snap a shot of a fishing boat coming or going.
